DuVall Elementary School

December 2-6

Dear DuVall Families,

Friday is our PTA Lock-in. All students must reserve a spot. Reservations are due Monday, December 2nd. NO walk-ins will be accepted. To donate for the lock-in click here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0444AEAB23A4F58-53345379-duvall#/

December begins our Positive Penguin Practice of generosity. Our students can be generous with their time by helping others, generous with kind comments, and generous with giving to others. We are also collecting scarves, gloves, mittens, and hats for the needy.

Congratulations to Mrs. Ross’s class for winning the pizza party for collecting the most canned goods. Her class collected 193 cans. As a school we collected 805 cans.

We are still having trouble with parents parking illegally and blocking garbage cans of our neighbors. A couple of weeks ago one of our parents, who is also a neighbor, didn’t have his trash picked up because someone was parked in front of his cans. None of us would like our trash not being picked up. Please be considerate. Remember, everything we do is a model for our children.

This year’s Kids Heart Challenge has officially begun for fundraising. All students that were in gym class last week received a couple of handouts to bring home to discuss with parents/guardians. All students will participate in the event (occuring during gym classes the week of Dec.9th-13th). Fundraising is an option with no obligation to raise money. The funding goes to the American Heart Association and small thank you gifts are awarded (see handout sent home). One hardworking student, top fundraiser, gets to be the Physical Education Teacher for the Day with me. Thank you in advance for making our school’s 28th consecutive event a success. Bryan Tapp, Physical Education Teacher
