Dear DuVall Families,
Our district is committed to supporting the whole child approach, ensuring we focus not only on academics but also on our students’ social and emotional needs. This holistic approach will help build our students’ long-term success. This year, all students, in the district, in grades 2nd-12th, will take the SAEBRS 19-item academic, social, and emotional questionnaire. This assessment will help us identify students who may need additional support in academic, social, or emotional areas. The questionnaire should take about 15 minutes to complete.
Trunk or Treat will be on Thursday, October 31 at 2:30 on the playground. If you would like to decorate your car and hand out a treat or donate please sign-up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C084DACAE28A7F8C61-52370944-trunk Beginning at 2:20 students will exit door 1, walk around the block for the traditional parade and then enter the playground on Beech for a class picture and Trunk or Treating. We will begin with GSRP, followed by kindergarten, first grade, etc. Parents are welcome.
Parents, remember to get an iChat. This must be completed two weeks before you volunteer as a Watch DOG, chaperone a field trip, or are with our students during the school day. iChats are good for three years. If you do not have one and would like to volunteer for any Halloween parties in your child’s classroom you will not be able to.
This week’s notes:
- Penguin Players is canceled on Thursday due to Halloween.
- DuVall Depot will be selling items they have made on Wednesday right after school. The money raised will go to a charity that the students select.
- Many thanks to Mr. Burkman and our S.T.E.A.M. teacher, Ms. McHugh for organizing our first ever robotics team. We are very excited for our 4th and 5th students that are on the team to learn new things and have fun with the robots.
- Parents must enter and exit through door 1 and sign in and out at the office. It is for safety reasons that we must know who is in the building at all times.
- Thank you to everyone who supported our Ambassadors Pizza Sale on Friday. A huge thank you to Mrs. Schuchert for all of her help.
- Thank you to the parents that were able to attend Thursday’s Parent Education Meeting. If you were unable to attend but would like to view the presentation click here: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1G6O0gchUW3U0pUVQY9iZcsPkw11e0z4FsecFkeGLPG8/edit?usp=sharing Please email me with any questions you may have. Parents that attended received a learning card game for their children. One parent did not get their game. If you are the parent that was missed please let me know and I will get you a card game that aligns with your child’s grade.
- I encourage you to review the weekly schedule at the bottom of every weekly email. Listed are clubs for the week, safety drills, school events, early release, early dismissals, etc.
- There is Doodle Club this Friday.
Notes worth repeating:
- Yearbooks will be $13. this year. I will provide the link once I have it so you can order online.
