Dear DuVall Families,
Again, I must ask, PLEASE, do not block driveways and alleys on any street around school. We try to have a positive, respectful relationship with our neighbors. Last week someone was asked to move his truck so a neighbor could pull out of the alley and he refused. Again, I received a picture of the license plate and it was given to our school resource officer, Dearborn Police Officer Lemus. I receive daily emails and calls with complaints. On Thursday we had three cars parked in front of school in the morning so our bus had to drop the students off away from the school.
Our School Ambassadors will be selling pizza and water after school on Friday. A pre-order form will go home on Monday. Please support this fundraiser, proceeds go towards the GaGa Ball Pit.

- Coming soon – This year’s Mini Martian Marathon will be held Saturday April 12th at Ford Field in Dearborn. There is a cost to join the team of $23 if registered before March 11th (price goes up after that date). Each participant will receive a t-shirt, medal,and inflatable alien as a member of our team. - Career Week: If you’re interested in participating, simply sign up by clicking the link below. You’ll be able to select the day and time that works best for you within the Career Week timeframe. - The Mobile Dentist is coming Thursday, Feb. 27. You can sign up online at www.MySchoolDentist.com or fill out the form that was in your student’s folder last week. Forms are due by Feb. 7
- The Lion King will be performed at DuVall by our students on May 21 during the school day and May 22 in the evening.
Developmental Preschool: Enrollment for current families will open on February 3, and it will be open to the public starting on February 17. The new rates will be: Full Day: $45.50 Half Day: $25.50 Before & After School Care: $6.75 Additionally, we are excited to announce that we plan to expand preschool early childcare and after-school care to all schools with Kids Club. Important notes worth repeating:
- Signing students out early: If you are picking your child up early do not pick up after 3:30 (2:00 on Early Release). When you come after these times it significantly causes trouble for the teacher and by the time your child gets to the office it’s the end of the day anyway.
- Breakfast is served 8:35-8:55. Students should enter through door 1 if they are coming for breakfast. If your child is not going to breakfast they should arrive 8:50-8:55. No one is available to supervise students before 8:50. Non-breakfast students should enter through door 5 or 8. On outdoor line-up days they come directly to the playground.
- Students must wear boots and snow pants if they want to play on the playground and in the snow. If they do not have both, they will have to remain on the blacktop. Students are not allowed to throw snowballs at school.
- PLEASE, put a change of clothes in your child’s backpack, especially grades K-2.
