Dear DuVall Families,
Thank you to everyone who volunteered and donated for the PTA Lock-in last Friday. The kids had a great time!
Thank you to Mr. Gonzalez, Mr. Borg, Mr. Fakih, and Mr. Schulte, our basketball parent coaches. Our junior varsity and varsity teams had their first game last week. Even though both teams lost, the boys are developing as a team, supporting each other, working hard, and improving. Thank you also to Mrs. Hernandez, our staff liaison for our teams.
Thank you Mr. Burkman and Ms. McHugh, our STEAM coaches, for taking our team to be spectators at a competition this weekend. Our team will compete in their first competition this spring.
Poinsettia sale, 6.5” for $8.00 and 7.5” for $14.00. All poinsettias are red and come with a decorative pot cover and a sleeve. They make wonderful gifts. Orders and payment are due Monday, December 16 by 11:00. We will receive delivery on Wednesday, December 18. Checks should be made payable to DuVall PTA.
This week’s notes and reminders:
- PTA meeting on Wednesday at 6:30 in the Media Center or on Zoom. The link is in the week’s schedule below. We hope to see you there!
- This week, chess will be on Wednesday instead of Thursday.
- Penguin Players is canceled this week and next week.
- This week and next, robotics will be held on Wednesday after school instead of Thursday. After winter break it will return to Thursdays.
- Our Ambassadors will have a tattoo sale Tuesday and Wednesday this week. Tattoos are .25 and $1.00 for a sheet. All money raised will go towards their purchase of the GaGa Ball Pit. The PTA will match whatever they make on this fundraiser so please support them.
- Basketball Players: Please bring in your jersey fees and slips by Wednesday, December 11th.
- The Kids Heart Challenge continues this week.
- Every year, parents ask me to share our Staff Favorites list. Staff use this among themselves and it has their favorite snacks, gift cards, etc. If you would like it click here: DuVall Favorites & Birthdays 2024-2025
- Our Sing Along dates are Monday, December 16th at 3:00 for our K-2 students and Wednesday, December 18th at 3:00 for our 3rd-5th students.
- On Thursday at 9:00 we will have our monthly Parent Education meeting. This month’s topic is Helping Your Child Thrive: A SEL Guide for Parents. Donuts and coffee will be served. All parents attending will receive a Penguin Point for each child and one book per family.
Important notes worth repeating:
- PLEASE, put a change of clothes in your child’s backpack, especially grades K-2.
