Dear DuVall Families,
It’s hard to believe this is the last weekly email/post of the year. Many thanks to all of our staff, students, parents, and community members for all of your support this year. DuVall is a very special place because of the people. I truly appreciate each and everyone of you and wish you a restful and enjoyable summer!
Many thanks to our PTA and everyone who helped to make our Ice Cream Social a success. Our Ice Cream Social committee led by Michelle Linderman, Lauren Schuchert, and PTA President Jaclyn Noles out did themselves. There is way to many people to mention each individual, please know how much you are appreciated. In typical DuVall fashion, at the end of the night everyone jumped in and helped clean up. Our students don’t know it, but they are so lucky to have such wonderful parents, families, and role models.
Thank you Robbin Makled for your work with the Native Plant Sale. This is such a great fundraiser but is tough when the date falls the night after Ice Cream Social. Robbin you are appreciated! Thank you Reema Hammoud, Kerry Lackey, Ursula Pinon and Nina, Evie, Morgan, and Aiyla from our Butterfly & Garden Club for helping out.
Please remember to invite any DuVall alumni that are graduating seniors this year to lead our 5th graders in their clap out on Friday. Seniors should wear their caps and gowns and arrive at 9:30. The clap out will begin at 9:45. All seniors that went to DuVall are invited, regardless of the high school they attended.
This week’s notes:
- No early release this week!
- Report cards will be sent home on the last day of school.
- Our office will be open June 10-14, 8:30-3:30.
- When wearing sandals, students must wear shoes with a back strap. This is for safety on the playground.
- Please make sure your child keeps his/her Penguin Tags in a safe place for the summer. Next year, he/she can earn more and add them to the collection.
- Kona Ice is $3.00 per student. Please send this in if you haven’t already. We do not want any students left out.
- Thursday is our first ever staff vs. 5th grade kickball game. Our PTA will be selling hot dogs, cold drinks, ice cream, and snacks.
- Teachers may be asking parents to help supervise their students during the kickball game. With staff playing and PTA selling extra help will be needed and appreciated.
- During the kickball game K-4 students will be sitting on the grass. Unfortunately, much of our grass is mostly dirt. Therefore, students are asked to bring a blanket to sit on. This should be an old blanket that can get dirty and is easily washed.
- We will be selling ice cream during lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday for $2.00. Selling on Thursday is TBD.
