Week of January 15-19

Dear DuVall Families,

Pancake dinner is Wednesday, 6:00-7:30. This is a free event for our community. Please enter through doors 5 or 8. If you are able to volunteer or donate it is appreciated. Items can be brought into the office before the event. Many thanks to our PTA for organizing this annual event that brings us all together.

This week’s notes:

  • We are in need of old newspapers and paper towel rolls for an upcoming art project. If you have any of these items that you could contribute, that would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be dropped off at the office. -Ms. Mendez
  • Art Club is being extended until April 22nd.

  • When there is snow please send your child with snow pants and boots. Without both of these students must stay on the blacktop during recess.
  • We go outside if the wind chill is above 20 degrees. Please make sure your child has gloves.mittens, a warm coat, and hat.
  • Our lost and found is already filling up. Please check it for lost items.
  • On February 2nd our PTA will be hosting Tea Time with a Twist for our lady penguins and guests.   • We have seven students performing in the Winter Honors Choir Concert on January 25th, 7:00pm at Bryant Middle School. Mrs. Rafferty will be directing the elementary choir.
  • Report cards were sent home on Friday. Please sign the envelope on the card marking #2 line and return the empty envelope.
  • Chess is canceled this week.
  • Running Club is canceled this week.
  • .Mardi Gras tickets are available in the office, $25.00. February 13th, 4:30-8:30, at the old Bravo at Fairlane. $30. at the door. $10. for children under 12. 
  • Our Parent Book Club began last week. We meet on the second Wednesday of every month. I have many copies left of our book, No-Drama Discipline by Daniel Siegel and Tina Bryson. Please let me know if you are interested in a copy.
  • 5th graders, remember your instruments on Tuesday!
  • Thank you to everyone who is following the traffic rules. I have vests if anyone is willing to volunteer to help with traffic.
