DuVall Elementary School

Week of October 16-20

Dear DuVall Families,

We have a new cafeteria manager, Joyce Dunlap. Mrs. Dunlap is a DuVall parent, has been a long-time noon hour supervisor and is now a full-time staff member at DuVall. We are excited to have Mrs. Joyce in her new position. Congratulations! This means we now have two noon hour supervisor positions open. Many people have expressed interest in this position. If you are interested you must apply first as a noon hour substitute at:

https://www.applitrack.com/resa/OnlineApp/default.aspx?choosedistrict=true&applitrackclient=38448&category=Substitute&AppliTrackJobId=23561_38448&AppliTrackLayoutMode=detail&AppliTrackViewPosting=1

After you apply, you must go to Human Resources, 18700 Audette and pick up a packet to complete. You will also need a TB test and a physical. Please let me know if you complete the application process.

We have a few kids that need to complete their immunizations/waivers by 10/25.  Letters were sent out last week to the parents of these students. DuVall is at 86% compliant with immunizations. Fordson High School is hosting an Immunization clinic on Friday, October 20th 9am-12pm.  If families go on this date, no appointment is needed. They can just walk in. I have no control over these guidelines. If you have questions please contact Nurse Kandes at kandesa@dearbornschools.org

Last year, our 5th graders gifted us a beautiful, large outside lending library. It is currently outside of door 5 on Francis. Anytime you are at school or out walking stop by and look for a new book or put a book you have already read in the library for others to enjoy. Appropriate adult books are welcome also.
