Dear DuVall Families,
It is with both sadness and excitement I share with you that I will be retiring from Dearborn Public Schools in June 2023. I have worked for Dearborn for just over 30 years. I started off as a substitute teacher for 2.5 years, then taught GSRP preschool at Salina for 14 years. After Salina, I taught kindergarten at Henry Ford Elementary for 7 years. I then made the move to the Special Education Department as a resource teacher at Henry Ford and Oakman, before finally coming to DuVall, where I have taught the past five years.
DuVall has been an incredible place to work. The families, staff and students are amazing. I have thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the DuVall family. However, it has been my dream since I was a little girl to move to Northern Michigan. Retirement presents that opportunity. It also gives me the opportunity to actually live WITH my husband. My husband Matt and I have had a long distance relationship the entire 12 years of our marriage. I remained in Dearborn to care for my parents. Now that they are both gone, it is time for me to begin the next chapter in my life.
My teaching career has come full circle. I worked with Mrs. Timpf, Dr. Maleyko, Mr. Attee, Mrs. McMahon and Mrs. Grahl in the beginning, at Salina. I have had the privilege to work with them, and for them, once again at DuVall. Now some of my former preschoolers are student teachers and teachers!
I will miss everyone from Dearborn Public Schools. So many students, families and colleagues hold a special place in my heart. I WILL return to visit for sure! I wish all of you the best.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Aileen Chromicz
