Dear DuVall Families,
Thank you to everyone who attended, donated, and volunteered for our Twilight Dinner. A special thank you to Reema Hammoud for all that she did. It was a great event enjoyed by all.
We have found chairs to purchase for the Teacher’s Lounge. The cost will be just under $1,200 for 16 chairs. If anyone would like to donate to this cause we would appreciate it. So far we have collected $300. Many thanks to the Nelson, Harp, and Dunlop families for their support. Donations in any amount are appreciated. Currently the chair seats are very unstable, even falling through their frames. Please consider helping us out. Teacher Appreciation Week is in May and this would be a great way to show our teachers how much we love them. Thank you
This week’s notes:
- Lego Club is canceled this week.
- There is an extra Lion King rehearsal on Thursday, 4:00-4:30. This is a staging rehearsal. This is for speaking parts.
- Doodle Club will resume after spring break.
- PTA Meeting is Wednesday at 6:30 in the Media Center or Zoom, ID: 842 5773 7447 Passcode: 650400

- Parents of 5th grade girls should have received an email on Friday about summer volleyball camp at Edsel Ford. If you did not receive it and are interested, please let me know.
- Math Club will be canceled March 19 and April 2. Mrs. Morrison will be at training those days. This week it will go on as scheduled.
- Talent Show auditions will be Friday, April 4, 4:00-5:00. A rehearsal will be held after school Thursday, April 10, and the Talent Show will be April 11 at 6:00.
- The 2nd & 3rd grade music concert will be Wednesday, May 28 at 6:00.
- The 4th & 5th grade music concert will be Thursday, May 29 at 6:00.
- The kindergarten and first graders will have the following individual times. Those will be shared soon.
- Sun Bucks: SUN Bucks is the new name for the Summer EBT grocery benefit. Eligible families will receive $120 per child to purchase groceries over the summer. Once you’re enrolled, SUN Bucks will be automatically added to your SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) account or you will be issued a separate electronic benefit transfer (EBT) card. Note: Families can receive SUN Bucks on top of other nutrition benefits like SNAP and WIC (Women, Infants, and Children.)
- Welcome Mrs. Hillary! Mrs. Hillary is taking Ms. Bobbie’s position. She begins on Tuesday.
Important notes worth repeating:
- 5th Grade: STEM admission requirements: 80th percentile on 5th grade spring iReady (Reading and Math), and advanced or proficient on the 4th grade ELA and math M-STEP tests. There is a lottery amongst all those that qualify from all schools.
- We are collecting donations, both monetary and prizes of any kind for our Ice Cream Social. Please be as generous as possible.
- This year’s Mini Martian Marathon will be held Saturday April 12th at Ford Field in Dearborn. There is a cost to join the team of $23 if registered before March 11th (price goes up after that date). Each participant will receive a t-shirt, medal,and inflatable alien as a member of our team.
