Dear DuVall Families,
Our teachers work hard every day to support our students, and we’d love to give them a comfortable space to relax during their breaks. Unfortunately, the chairs in the teacher’s lounge are worn out, unstable, and even unsafe. Our unit budget is the only part of our budget that can be used for this purchase and it was cut by a large amount this year. I will be contributing personally to this cause but as far as school money goes we just don’t have it. I am asking for your help to purchase new chairs. Any donation, big or small, would be greatly appreciated. We are still deciding which chairs we would like to purchase but early indications are this project will cost around $2,000. If you are able to donate any amount please send it into school. Checks can be made out to DuVall School. Thank you for supporting our wonderful teachers!
Summer School information: June 23-July 25, 8:00-4:00, free breakfast and lunch. Click here for the flier: Summer Discovery 2025.png Arabic version: Summer Discovery 2025 Arabic.png Press Release with more information: DRAFT 26 Summer programs Enrollment begins on Monday, March 3 and continues until March 20. We are hoping for at least 100 DuVall students register for this program. It is a great opportunity for students to maintain what they have learned so summer slide is minimized or doesn’t occur at all, fine tune their skills, and most importantly have some fun!
Congratulations to Ms. Rafferty on her directing of the District Honors Choir. This choir is performing on Thursday at 6:00 at Bryant. DuVall students involved are: Nolan Conway, Eleanora Deller, Isla Dowhan, Peyton Fullerton, Andrea Porras, Bianca Porras, Jillian Skidmore.
Ramadan: If your child is fasting and they are in grades K-2 I ask that you send me an email or a note. This is not necessary for students in grades 3-5. Students that are fasting will go outside and during the time their classmates are eating they are asked to sit at the picnic tables and read or visit with friends. During their recess time they can participate in their usual recess.
Music Class: If you would like your child to not participate in music during Ramadan please notify me immediately with a note or email. Otherwise your child is expected to participate as it is part of our curriculum.
Thank you to our PTA for recognizing individuals at Founder’s Day for their contributions to our school. This year’s honorees are Emily Press, Abigail Freed, Ursula Pinon, and Robbin Makled. Congratulations!
