Dear DuVall Families,
Many thanks to Mrs. Dunlap, Mrs. Noles, Ms. Tharayil, Mrs. Taha, Ms. Dembrosky, Mrs. Batha and all of the parents that helped with Book Bingo. We had a record crowd! We will brainstorm ways to provide more seating for our next bingo. Thank you to Mrs. Van Horn for agreeing to run a “Doodle Club” for our students. We will do a trial run for grades 1st-5th on the three school Fridays in November, 4:00-5:00. Permission slips will be sent home soon. Also, thank you to Mrs. Harman who will be running a Lego Club. More details for this will available soon. She would love another parent to join her. If any parent is interested in sponsoring any other club, newspaper, garden, etc. please contact me.
Wednesday is count day. It’s very important that our students attend, if at all possible. It will be Hat Day and all students that attend will receive a Penguin Point.
October’s Positive Penguin Practice is responsibility. We will continue to work on kindness because many of our students are having trouble with this practice. Please talk with your children about the importance of being kind and responsible. Revisit these positive practices often with your children. We will continue to work on them at school as well.
Many students have said they have misplaced their Penguin Tags from last year. Please look around for these and attach them to your child’s backpack. Students will continue to earn them each year they are at DuVall. If your child’s chain broke, please have them come to the office and we will replace it with a stronger one. If they lost all of their tags from last year we cannot replace them but they will start collecting them for this year.
Please remember we have an early dismissal on Friday. Students are released at 12:05.
