It is still hard for me to believe, but in a normal school year, today would be our annual Ice Cream Social. With all of the changes and challenges that we have faced during the last few months and uncertainty about what awaits us, I wanted to thank you all for what our community does to support our students. Typically, by the time you are reading this blog post, at least 2 to 3 students would have had the opportunity to throw a pie in the face of the principal, which makes me wonder why those raffle tickets are the top sellers for the past 5 years. I also love the atmosphere in which I see students and their families enjoying the time together along with seeing their friends and members from our staff. While this year’s Ice Cream Social has been cancelled due to the COVID 19 Shutdown, it is important to reflect on all of the positive times that our school community has shared and will share again some time in the future.
Our school has a fun, exciting, and stimulating learning environment because of the support we have as a community. This year, especially, shows the strength of this bond as students, parents, and teachers work together remotely to ensure a continuity of learning. As our school year winds down during the next 2 weeks, I know that there will be many fun activities as we continue the ABC countdown and have other fun learning activities. I also want to thank all of our parents and staff who have been remotely planning how to make the last few weeks special for your students. Thank you all for your support of our students and school and let’s continue to make the next 2 weeks a great learning experience for all of our students! Penguin Strong!
