Recommendations from Coffee with the Principal / Upcoming Events

DuVall Families,

There was such a great turnout today with very supportive parents and community members for this year’s first Coffee with the Principal in the Media Center.  During our conversation, parents and community members had a few questions and recommendations.

Clubs and Activities:

DuVall has several different after school clubs and activities throughout the year -Chess Club, Bible Club, Lego Club, Choir, Academic Enrichment (replacing Art Club), DoVall Club, Girl Scouts, and Safeties/ Service Squad.  Please check the DuVall School News Blog for more information on these clubs throughout the year.

Older Siblings:

Older siblings are welcome to assist their parents with student pick up at the end of the school day, however the older siblings should still follow our school rules.  As role models for younger students, they should demonstrate proper behavior and refrain from using inappropriate language.  If older siblings violate school rules and use inappropriate language, they will not be able to pick up their siblings on school property after their family has been notified.

The damaged swing that was reported during the Coffee with the Principal meeting has now been replaced by our district’s grounds crew today!  Here is the new swing:

Parking/ Dropoff:

Mr. Attee will be meeting to discuss some of the options brought up during the Coffee with the Principal Meeting today.  This includes exploring the possibility of providing a limited drop off time on Francis Street.  Parents are encouraged to use the drop off zone on Military Street close to the fence.  Also, while parking, many parents and guardians are also in need of space – please be courteous and avoid double parking so that all of our families can find closer spots to the school to pick up their children.

Thank you:

Thank you to Mrs. Noone for helping to organize this event as well as Biggby Coffee and Ms. Cathy’s Cafe for providing coffee this morning!  Thank you to all of the parents and community members who came this morning and for your support of our students and school!
